History of Into the Light Ballet

Into the Light Ballet is excited to bring a Christian dance school to the community of Henry Co. We believe in keeping a positive and up lifting environment for our dancers and parents. Into the Light Ballet's goal is to train dancers with the discipline of classical ballet, while encouraging them to become more like Christ. We show them how to express their love to God and glorify Him through the different styles of dance. We want to help dancers shine the light of God throughout our community. Into the Light Ballet has two parts: the school which is called 'Into the Light Ballet' and the company which is 'Into the Light Ballet, Inc.' Dancers begin at the age of two with the school and continue all the way through their senior year of high school. The school also has open adult classes. Once the dancer is in high school and has achieved a qualifying level of technical ability, they will have the option of auditioning for the Company's trainee program. The Trainee program is located at the school, though it is more intense training than the school classes. This is a pre-professional training and dancers from all schools of dance are welcome to audition. The company is open to perform in churchs, women's conferences, special events, weddings, and so on.

To glorify our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ through dance.
To help others grow in Him.
And most of all to shine the light of our Lord’s love to the dark places so that these places can begin to shine His Love!

	Jamie Strickland - Is the founder of Into the Light Ballet. She started dancing just over twenty years ago and has been teaching for nine years. Her training consists of classical ballet, contemporary, modern, tap and more. She recieved much of her training at GYB and was in multiple productions throughout the years of dancing.
	Tiffany Strickland - Started dancing fifteen years ago and has been teaching five years. While most of her training was through GYB, she has been through intensive programs such as Ballet Magnificat, FBC and Orlando Ballet. She has been accepted by two Christian companies. Tiffany will be based at Into the Light Ballet while traveling with dance missions trips.
	Shaun Strickland - Late in the spring of 1999, Shaun began dancing at the Madison Studio. Following this he danced briefly with Atlanta Festival Ballet and then with the Georgia Youth Ballet for seven years. He has attended several summer intensives such as Burklyn Ballet Theatre in 2001, Craft of Choreography in 2003, and Ballet Magnificat in 2006. In summer of 2006 decided to train and dance with Ballet Magnificat. By the fall of 2006 he began training and dancing with them for over a year. Now having trained and seen some of the best. He is pursuing other dancing and teaching opportunities.
